Blue and Black Berry Smoothies

Robin and I had a real hankering for a smoothie this morning. On a tight budget, we can’t just run down to Jugo Jus to satisfy the craving. We decided to make due. The result? Delicious, fresh fruit smoothies.  What’s great about this recipe is that you can alternate the blackberries and blueberries for any other fruit you have on hand. Perfection.

Blue and Black Berry Smoothies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Fresh Blueberries
  • .5 cup Fresh Blackberries
  • 1 cup Vanilla Greek Yogurt (we used Oikos)
  • .25 cup Milk 1%
  • 2 Ice Cubes, crushed

(Serves 2)

Preparation Time: 5 minutes

Wash the berries before throwing them in a blender. Add the milk, yogurt, and crushed ice and blend away! Simple as that!

Note: Do not drink right before a first date. Or else, your smile will be seed-y (haha, get it?) and we don’t want that!

We both prefer a more frozen shake, so we threw a little bag of berries into the freezer, as well as tupperware of yogurt. That should be yummy!
